Haircut x2

Jack got his second ever haircut at the ripe young age of 3 years, 8 months old. For his first haircut, we took the SUPER safe route and I took him to my personal salon where the owner just barely tipped the ends of his hair and we paid WAY too much to have far too little cut off.

Both times, Jack has asked to have his haircut. When he requested this time, I asked all my girlfriends and this was the place they recommended because it has an airplane chair! Be sure to note the absence of an airplane chair in the photos below. Not because they didn't have one, but because Jack flat out said "I'm not sitting in that" and promptly led us back into the salon to sit in a regular chair.

Once again, he adopted super serious Jack face:
He did incredibly well during the cut. He sits extremely still, watching her every move, all while keeping a close eye on both Mommy and Daddy.

When he was finished with the haircut he resumed his position in the waiting area with a Dinosaur sticker book (which we discovered a few minutes later in the Dollar bins at Target and rewarded him with since he had to leave that one behind.)

Magically, I was able to get him to pose (!) for photos outside so I could really capture his first real haircut.
I even managed to get some smiles!
Pure happiness. A haircut at his request. A blue balloon. The promise of a trip to Target for a reward. Does it get any better?

**Funny story about the balloon. We took it in the car, of course, and Jack played with it all during the car ride. He named it "Ballooney" a few minutes into the car ride and knocked it around and talked to it quite a bit and then finally said to it, rather emphatically, "Ballooney, you've changed! It makes me sick." sending Chris and I into fits of laughter. I really don't remember the last time I got that tickled about something. (Probably the last time Jack said something equally as funny)

It was hysterical.

***Edited to add: Thankfully, the source of the hilarious line delivered by Jack is his favorite show, Phineas & Ferb. I happened to catch the episode this morning, and since he watches it on repeat, it's no wonder he repeated it. At least there's an explanation...
