What A Croc!

Evidently, as a mommy, I am a bit behind the fashion times. Evidently, (much as I despise them) Crocs are THE shoes to have these days for those of a certain age. Especially toddlers.

At Kindermusik on Tuesday, I looked around to find that Jack was the ONLY child in the entire class not wearing Crocs. Others noticed this too, with one mama even having to explain that Jack's shoes were, in fact, shoes, even though they didn't look like rubber duck feet. (Okay, so she didn't say it exactly like that.)

Then, Jack noticed that all the other shoes were different than his, and took a keen interest in an orange pair belonging to another boy, that were covered in the illustrious Jibbitz.

Then, the next morning, dropping Jack off at school, Miss S and I somehow got onto the subject of Crocs, and her grandson wears nothing but Crocs and she started talking about Mammoth crocs, and how they don't slip off the foot and on and on, and she informed me that there is a Crocs Outlet in San Marcos.

It would appear that all roads lead to Crocs. At least for Jack, since we would just so happen to be IN San Marcos, across the street from the Outlets that very afternoon! And, of course, I can't be letting my little man be out of fashion, even if the fashion is rubber shoes.

Jack went completely B-A-N-A-N-A-S in the store, wildly pulling shoes off the racks and running around like crazy with them. (Not much unlike his Mommy in Nine West, may I say?)

I'm happy (sort of) to report that Jack is now the proud owner of not one, not two, but THREE pairs of Crocs.
When I reported this information to Daddy last night, I could hear crickets. So I repeated myself. To which he replied "You're not serious, right?" (The man knows me FAR too well.) I had to admit that I was serious, and then the man laid the ground rule that no Crocs would be permitted over the age of five. (Isn't he funny?) I can't say it's a bad rule, but it means we're looking at Crocs for the next 3 years. Won't that be fun?

He does actually look pretty darn cute in them, I must admit. And, they're guaranteed not to stink, or something, which will be good, because that child could wake the dead when he removes his sandals.

even though they ARE ugly they can put them on themselves...and if/when they get dirty just throw them in the washing machine and they come out looking new! just don't put them in the dryer... I wash my kid's crocs with the towels.
